WALKING IN RED - A GUIDED TOUR OF BROAD STREET WARD
It is with great pleasure that we announce an additional event - a guided tour of Broad Street ward led by our very own Common Councilman, John Scott, CC - to mark the 350th anniversary of the Great Fire of London.
To mark the 350th Anniversary of the Great Fire of London, one of our Common Councillors has agreed to replicate his previous Walking in Red, the first one taking place being some years ago and extremely popular.
Participants are asked (if practical) to dress in red and a modest prize will be given for the person dressed most imaginatively or comprehensively. Each walker will be given a set of questions to answer as they walk round and again there will be also a modest prize for the most correct answers.
This walk will take place on the eve of City Giving Day, which is being supported by firms and other organisations in the City who will take part in various activities to benefit the Lord Mayor’s Appeal. Taking probably not much more than an hour, it will end at Corney & Barrow in Old Broad Street, where everyone will get a free glass on arrival. However, the aim of the Walk is to try and raise a contribution to City Giving Day, so we should like each participant to contribute £15 a head towards this aim and the final refreshment.
Do please come along and support John and the Club – it should be an interesting evening and you will be able to meet more of your fellow members in an informal and relaxed way as well as marking a true City event.
