This was a River trip to the Thames Barrier.

Monday 6th July 2015

Monday the 6th July saw 26 members and guests depart from Westminster Pier on a glorious sunny morning for our visit to the Thames Barrier; this is not the first time the Club have ventured down river for the event, but such is the gravitas of this immensely important structure, it never fails to impress.

We were greeted by a fine lunch with copious amounts of white wine, followed by a presentation film of the barrier and its construction, then onto the display area and general stroll around the grounds. Due to the current terror threat, we were not able to go into the Barrier itself, but this did not detract from a fabulous day, followed by a courtesy visit to the Dickens Inn at St Katherine’s Dock
