CIVIC LUNCHEON AT GUILDHALL - 2015
We held our Annual Civic Lunch in the Guildhall Crypts.
This year the Club was privileged to welcome the Rt. Hon Lord Mayor, The Lord Mountevans, together with his wife.
This was held on Monday December 7th 2015
My proudest moment of the year was to represent The Broad Street Ward Club as Chairman for the Annual Civic Lunch, held on December 7th at the Crypts in Guildhall. I will admit that it did seem a bit daunting, especially as we were honoured to have the presence of The Rt. Hon. The Lord and the Lady Mayoress. However, once the proceeding got underway, I could not have been more proud to have played a part in this very special day. I would like to reiterate to you all, how very grateful I am for your Herculean efforts on making this event stay in my memory forever.
I had the honour of having the support of the Club, the City, the 52 friends who attended and the support of a true Consort in Kay Cragg.
I received a splendid Gift from the Lord Mayor on the day, two wonderful letters from both the Lord Mayor and the Lady Mayoress, along with a personalised Christmas card, not bad for an afternoon’s work.
The Lord Mayor was particularly impressed how vibrant, convivial and full the Crypt was that afternoon and in writing to me, was very pleased to have been part of my speech in fulfilling my dream to my son over the “Christmas Carol Story”
Even now, it is so nice to have complimentary comments paid to me from friends and relations who attended the lunch, so the memory lives on !
