Visit to Freemasons' Hall - 2015
This was a Private Tour of the Library and Museum of Freemasonry
Thursday 29th October 2015
Our October event took us to The United Grand Lodge of England, the home of Freemasonry, in Great Queen Street on the 29th. We had 31 attendees, but we could have accommodated more, but for the restriction on numbers. We were treated to a first class tour of the Museum and main areas within this magnificent Grade II listed Building, completed in 1933, paid for by many Lodges to commemorate the Fallen in the Great War.
Our guide was called Stephen, he never told us his surname, but by the end of the tour, it did not matter as he looked after us with such care and passion, it was a joy to listen to him.
After which, we proceeded to the impressive Strada Restaurant, which was a very short walk from Grand Lodge, where we were treated to a fine two course dinner ALA Italian and afterwards, we finished the evening at the Pillars of Hercules Public House. The rain did not stop us from enjoying a fine end to the evening under the street canopy.
Another great find by our Honorary Secretary Judith Rich OBE – How does she do it, we do not know, but…. But we are truly grateful
